Accessories for your bird

When you go to pick out your bird it might be a good Idea to pickout some things to go in the cage.

Toys

Toys are very important to have in the cage because if your bird does not have toys it can become very bored.

You may want to pick a variety and that each one is different and colorful. And ask your breeder or dealer what kind of personality does you bird have. Does it like to climb, chew, swing.ect

And pick out the toys that would best fit your birds personality or you think they would enjoy. I think a mirror is always good in a cage too.

THE CAGE

I will not go into cage size. But just to keep in mind....

Get a big cage, I dont mean huge one, but one where you bird can get around and that is not very small. Sometimes in pet stores they will have

a piece of paper telling what you need to get for your bird and they also tell the cage size you need to get. But I would try to get a good size cage in case you want to get another bird.

FOOD

I prefer pellets as the main diet because some seeds are really high in fat. Also birds can pick through that food and find the best and just eat that.

Pellets are good because it is all the same so birds cant pick through it and it is very nutritional. Now if your breeder has weaned them to seeds you can get them on pellets.

Pellets can be there main diet but should not just be all they eat. You should give them seeds and veggies as treat or snack. My cockatiel loves millit spray and lettuce but your bird might like apples and sunflower seeds. You just have to see what they like
